Scientific definition of a planet excludes Pluto

Prague, 24 ago (EFE).- The International Astronomical Union today excluded Pluto as a planet in its own right in the Solar System, after long and intense controversy about this resolution.

With the decision voted today on the floor of XXVI authority of the General Assembly, held in Prague, reduces the number of planets in the solar system from nine to eight. Over 2.500 analysts 75 countries meeting in the Czech capital recognize so that erred when it granted the Pluto planet category, in 1930, year of its discovery. (UOL)
