DealExtreme (DX): Component Video Converter (YPbPr), S-Video, Composed Video (CVBS) and Stereo Audio to HDMI

This Component Video Converter (YPbPr), S-Video, Composed Video (CVBS) and Stereo Audio to HDMI (YPbPr + CVBS + S-video to HDMI Video Converter – Black (100~ 240V)) was acquired in DX – DealExtreme. Its function is to convert audio signals to digital and analog video on the HDMI standard, besides making upscale to, in other words, increase the resolution to high-definition standards, which enables older equipment in modern TVs, projectors, monitors, etc.

There entrance to the 3 main types of analog signals: component video (YPbPr), S-Video, and Composite Video (CVBS), plus stereo audio. On the back are the 6 plugs RCA e o plug S-Video das entradas. The resolutions supported in the component video input are 480i, 576i, 480p, 576p, 720p, 1080i, and 1080p. All inputs support NTSC and PAL. Not tested with PAL-M, but should work too.

On the front is the HDMI output, a jack audio and P2 input to the 5V power supply, included. The resolutions supported in output are 480i, 576i, 1080i, 480p, 576p, 720p, 1080p, 640 x 480p, 800 x 600p, 1024 x 768p, 1280 x 768p, 1280 x 800p, 1280 x 1024p, 1360 x 768p, 1600 x 1200p, and 1920 x 1200p.

The instruction manual is in English. On the right side there 4 buttons and an LED that indicates when a source is connected. With the buttons you can display a menu on the screen. In the settings menu you can adjust which of 3 input sources must be used, output resolution, appearance 16:9 or 4:3, zoom level, signal information, etc. You can also view various color patterns to help in the TV settings. In the Image menu you can adjust contrast, brightness, saturation, Matiz, and sharpness.

In my case, acquire this Component Video Converter (YPbPr), S-Video, Composed Video (CVBS) and Stereo Audio to HDMI to connect my Atari VCS / 2600 American modified S-Video output. Neither my TV or my receiver has S-Video input, since they are endangered and some appear in new equipment. Unfortunately, Converter It did not work for this task. This was quite messy and showing less than one frame per second. Probably the signal issued by non-native Atari VCS / 2600 is somewhat non-standard and confuses Converter. Also I tried the composite video output of Atari VCS / 2600 and the same problem occurred.     Hey Skooter, here I am once again in doubt. Did he convert my Gamecube (OF, You do not have the digital output) and slightly improved image quality? I'm pretty sure he's better than that mini AV2HDMI white boy for sale (and the way it is the same manufacturer's SCART / HDMI).
