Odontopet Durabone

The Odontopet Durabone is a bone dog toy, made in thermoplastic resin.

My dog has the “habit” to destroy almost every toy I give for it in very little time. Were many attempts, until I found this Durabone, that in version “For strong bites” can entertain you for a while.

What I've noticed is that he doesn't have much interest in anything that appears to be indestructible. It seems that he likes the toys that he can realize that getting destroy. The advantage of the Durabone is he really going to deforming slowly with the bites and eventually dropping small bristles that, second container, can be swallowed without causing problems.

The other toys I have ever tried, the lighter plastic he can destroy quickly and the toy becomes dangerous, with the risk of parts being swallowed. The rubber, as marbles, He does not destroy, but the interest in a new end up not lasting as long as the Durabone. Fabric toys, no way, because they are also destroyed in no time.

This is the third Durabone that get. The first two had somewhat different format, more like a bone same, and lasted for quite. Of first one just about a third the size. The latter earned him a few 20 days, and is still fairly full, but with many bite marks.

There are various formats and flavors (meat, chicken, chocolate). There are versions for moderate bites, but I never bought, because they are of a material that lasts a few seconds before being destroyed by my dog, as I found with other toys made with similar material.

One of the advantages claimed in the Durabone package are:

  • Discourage destructive chewing.
  • Help keep teeth clean.
  • Meets natural desire to chew longer.
  • Decreases boredom.
  • Designed for strong bites.
  • Anti-bacterial protection.
  • For dogs with permanent teeth. (Usually with age after 6 months)
