Hello Skooter Blog readers, today I speak of Flash Yongnuo Speedlite YN-468 E-TTL c / LCD 1.6″ to Canon 30D/40D/50D and other (4*AA) (AT-468 1.6″ LCD Flash Speedlite for Canon 30D/40D/50D + More (4*AA)), an excellent flash of Chinese manufacturer Yongnuo, that seems to be quite competent in this segment. The model is YN-468, for Canon cameras. Besides DSLR, some cameras segment superzoom also accept external flash and work perfectly with YN-468.
This has flash support e-TTL, ensuring communication with his camera and its automatic setting according to the parameters selected in the camera. Besides the TTL mode, and Flash Speedlite YN-468 has some other modes, dentre eles or strobe, that is quite sought after by some photographers. It also features auto zoom, protection against overheating, rear-curtain sync, exposure compensation, manual focus adjustment of light, among other features. The feed is made by 4 pilhas AA.
I never had an external flash, up because I never had DSLR camera, despite having an interest in photography and always opt for automatic (point-and-shoot) they had some interesting manual features, aperture priority mode and shutter priority, etc. In 2009, I took a trip to the US to buy a superzoom, a Canon Powershot SX10 IS, although not to a DSLR and use fixed lens (Zoom 20X), has some interesting features, as the possibility of using external flash. But as I had no, always I used it only with the built-in flash.
Buy a flash in Brazil was not an option because it would cost me more than I paid the machine in the US. Moreover, is absurd as cameras and accessories are expensive in Brazil thanks to the multitude of taxes we have here. The difference is such that to buy more expensive professional machines compensates for travel to the US, buy there and back, because the price difference paid the outward and return flights and still have. So is Brazil, tax burden first world, and education, security, health, etc. third world. It is unfortunate, but the people like to be made of clown and the president has 80% approval, then there is no change in perspectives.
From which DealExtreme began selling flashes of Yongnuo, I was very interested and started researching about these flashes, I found that the Speedlite YN-468 competes directly with Canon Speedlite 430EX II, a flash which is mid-level quite respectable. The Yongnuo Speedlite YN-468 has similar specifications and features costing just a third of the price of Canon Speedlite 430EX II, then seems to be an excellent deal. In my search I found a review excelente do Yongnuo Speedlite YN-468 en site Speedlights.net. Here in Skooter Blog I do reviews of many products that you probably only see here, so I can write the ease knowing I'm going through several new information that will not be found elsewhere. But in the case of Flash Yongnuo Speedlite YN-468 would be useless I try to add something to the review of photography professionals who are much more qualified than I, just an amateur, to evaluate such a flash. Give way, if you are interested in Yongnuo Speedlite YN-468, strongly recommend that you read the part 1 and to part 2 this review of Speedlights.net, because there is there more quality information than I could put here, made by those who understand the subject.
For a first flash, my experience with the Yongnuo Speedlite YN-468 was very positive. It was only put 4 pilhas AA, coupled-lo à camera rather simple form, turn it on, select the TTL mode (ele stores or last mode, then this step is only necessary the first time) and was ready for use. I gained not only a wider reach for flash photos, but also a much faster charging time, so that I can take multiple pictures with flash in sequence with even shorter time span than with the built-in flash. Another feature that I liked enough is the possibility of using bounce flash, something that was impossible (without hacks) with built-in flash. The purpose, not appear well in photographs, but Yongnuo Speedlite YN-468 has a diffuser and a built-hitter.
In packaging, beyond Flash Yongnuo Speedlite YN-468, also has a scholarship, a basis for the flash and the operating instructions in English and Chinese. The bag is soft and is only for surface protection, it is rather thin and does not protect against drops. The base serves to mount the flash off camera, ideal to use the strobe function or to use it as a slave flash emitting light from another angle. The instruction manual is above average, English is well written, unlike most Chinese products. The description of the flash features are not too technical, there are even some example of use, so that an amateur as I, who has a basic knowledge of photography and well know the features of your camera, can understand it without difficulty.
The Flash Yongnuo Speedlite YN-468 is costing $90,80 USD (U.S. dollars two) in DealExtreme, but I had DX Points sufficient to rescue him without cost. As needed to have an open request to add it, I decided to apply for another Bundled with 10 Black Flashlight Keychain 22000mcd, who are always helpful and well baratinhos. It turned out that the Flash Yongnuo Speedlite YN-468 before he was sent in a separate package (and tracking), e so 3 days after the Keychain Flashlight were sent in another package (without a trace). Send separate packages for the same request is a common practice DealExtreme when a product is missing, so that the customer immediately receives the products that are available and gets a little later the product that was missing and was sent a few days later.
The purchase was made in 16/08/2010 and has already sent the next day, 17/08 (and keychains were sent in 20/08). The Hong Kong Post reports that the follow package to Brazil in 21/08. The Post Office in Brazil report that the package was given here in 30/08, and on day 02/09 I already had it in hand. Pretty fast. Note that the trace appears he left for delivery and then waited withdrawal in CDD own. This appears because I chose to remove the CDD on the same day the first delivery attempt, which was done by the Sedex staff, By being a relatively large box, instead of the postman brings the matches and lighter packages. They left a warning that could pull in CDD, and as I was about to go there around the same day, I decided to withdraw. The package came with description of content as “LED KEYCHAINS” (despite keychains have not been in this package) and “PHOTO / CAMERA” with weight 86 and 416 grams, respectively, and declared values $6,69 and $91,02, respectively, totaling 496 grams (corrected the stylus to 442 grams) and declared value of $97,71 HKD (Hong Kong dollars), or equivalent to approximately R $ 21,00. The package was not taxed, and there is no stamp of IRS, which made me very happy, since it is the most expensive product I received from DealExtreme in 2010.
