This problem happened in Windows 8 with an HP Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless, but probably also applies to other printers.
She was linked, with IP address, responding to pings normally, but appear as offline in Windows. Did no good problem solving. To print I was restarting the print spool, so she printed what was in the queue, but then again appeared offline.
The solution ended up coming hence:
- Click Start, and then click Printers and Faxes.
- Right-click the printer, and then click Properties.
- Click the Ports tab.
- Click Configure Port.
- Click to clear the SNMP Status Enabled check box, click OK, and then click Close.
Apparently it is a problem in communication via SNMP printer with the PC. Following in the footsteps, the problem is solved.
