Hello Skooter Blog readers. Today I talk about my second acquisition in Goggles4u, a pair of glasses with Nike Flexon frame 4182 045 com slow Essilor Transitions, with index 1.67. Nike Flexon frames are made of memory metal, are quite flexible and return to the original position after flexed. Essilor is a major lens manufacturers, and Transtions is the name of photochromic lenses, that are transparent at night indoors and, and darken when exposed to sunlight, protecting the eyes and providing greater visual comfort. The index 1.67 is to be relatively thin lenses, even when dealing with lenses for myopia and astigmatism somewhat high.
My first application na Goggles4u has been described here in Skooter Blog. It got a pair of glasses with frame without lenses brand and also with index 1.67, anti-glare, etc., but without a big brand behind. That request everything went as expected. The glasses were left with a very affordable price (only $56,85 dollars with shipping) and came at about 30 days. I took them to the eye doctor and were in accordance with the recipe.
After this first positive experience so I decided to make a new purchase abroad, choosing a better frame and doing Transitions lenses, taking advantage of the cost out there is much lower than in Brazil. The request was made in 08/01/2013. Were about two weeks for the pair of glasses were manufactured. Was sent via USPS First Class 23/01/2013. But if the first application everything went perfectly, I can not say the same of the second. Well, request redone in 08/02/2013. Again there were two weeks of production and day 23/02/2013 the new pair of glasses was posted via USPS First Class. No give 13/03/2013 the new pair of glasses was already in my hands. Again were about 2 and other production weeks 2 in transit. Again the description of the package was “Eyeglasses”, or declared value of $5,00 USD. Nor was taxed.
I opened the package and was happy to see that this time hit the frame. But the joy was short-lived. It was only put the glasses in the eye and see that erred in building, because my vision was somewhat bad. It took me to the eye doctor and confirmed: the lens was correct, in other words, My degree spherical (myopia) cylindrical (astigmatism) was correct in both eyes. The problem is that in case of the cylindrical degree, the lens must be assembled with the rotation (axis) correct, according to the recipe. And what they did was simply ignore the axis, came the two lenses with the axis, that does not match any of my two eyes.
An error is admissible, but wrong twice in the same application is already a little too. A segunda proposta da Goggles4u veio um tanto melhor, I send just the wrong glasses with lenses, and they would reimburse me for shipping with store credit. It, is not the best solution in the world, ends up leaving me for at least another two months without the glasses I bought, and leave me a credit not even know if I will use, as with so much confusion… I really hope it was an isolated case and that even given chance. Must be some pest owner of Brazilian perspective. 🙂
E lá se foi o par de óculos de volta para a Goggles4u, not before the post office give heartburn with the package that did (usando a mesma embalagem da Goggles4u) and forcing me to purchase one of their boxes to not have to go home and redo the package. And you want to know how this story ends? I also want. No give 08/04 reported that they were still rebuilding and would send at any time that week. The week is over and nothing. Vou aguardar o final da história para avaliar novamente a Goggles4u. Yet, has the downside erred the same request twice: a frame, one on the lens, and still make me spend almost £ 40,00 with mail. On the plus side, at least are trying to solve the problem, left the first pair with me and have some credit for having hit the first request. If at the end all goes well, I'll be satisfied yet, because in Brazil probably would be with the correct glasses for a long time, mas com outra armação e teria pago facilmente o dobro do que gastei com a Goggles4u.
