In February 2014 eu adquiri um SSD Sandisk Extreme de 240GB. In fact I got the store to buy the Ultra model which had seen on their website, but when the salesman picked him up in stock, I realized that it was actually an Extreme that was registered wrong. The seller said I could take this for the same price of the Extreme Ultra, then it turned out to be an excellent deal. My desktop PC started to work with Windows installed on it since then, getting much faster, whereas before I used only a 64GB SSD as cache, which helps a lot in some cases, but does not compare to the use of SSD as a system drive even.
At the time of acquisition of SSD Sandisk Ultra II G25 SDSSDHII-480G-G25, 480GB, SATA3, 2.5′ for a laptop, I learned of the existence of Sandisk SSD Dashboard, Sandisk's own software that includes tools for disk analysis, firmware update, among other. I also decided to install it on my desktop and, to my surprise, I found that the Sandisk Extreme SSD 240GB was no longer very good health. O teste de diagnóstico S.M.A.R.T. indicated 34 retired blocks, when the limit is only 3. This number also increased slightly in the following days and was sure that this would SSD letting me down.
Como o Sandisk Extreme tem 3 year warranty, resolvi then contact the Sandisk. Forget the phone! The service on the phone seems to be with Brazilians, because the Portuguese them is quite complicated to understand. I was attended to, They generated protocol and were to send me an e-mail, which I should respond by attaching error screens Sandisk SSD Dashboard, but I think it noted the wrong address because it never received. So I made contact by Site form, already attaching the two screens. Quickly responded and asked to send only some basic data, as capacity SSD, product code, serial number, etc. all of which can be replaced by a photograph of both sides of the SSD. Also asked my personal data, data e local da compra. I have the invoice, but they did not ask. Here are photos and paintings that I sent:
Confirmed or problem, said exchange would have to be made. As the Extreme model is no longer manufactured, I was offered a top model: o Extreme PRO. Of course I accepted. 🙂 O Extreme PRO não apenas é mais rápido, as is guaranteed 10 years! Once I authorized the exchange have passed me the data to send the SSD with problems. The submission had to be on my own, but fortunately it went to an address in São Paulo, capital. They say even that shipping can be by certified mail, but I believe that many agencies do not allow, then the cheapest option ends up being the PAC.
Once the SSD with problems got there, already dispatched me Sandisk Extreme PRO de 240GB directly from the U.S., via UPS, and I could follow the path the tracking code that provided me. We just 6 calendar days for the US exit package and arrive at my house. A few days before the arrival of the package received a UPS call asking my CPF to put in the documentation. Check out the steps in screening:

On the outside of the box was all the paperwork and import taxes. Dilma, Alckmin and other absurdities snapped R $ 1.364,32 Tax. But note that the Sandisk declared a value of US $ 339,99 the product, which is rather odd since it is in the US currently sold for only $ 121,07 na Amazon. In Brazil or is this model to sell, but even importing directly from Amazon and paying all taxes would still be cheaper than the $ 339,99 declared, which have been converted to R $ 1.294,00. So Dilma snapped R $ 776,40 in the form of import tax (tax rate 60%), Alckmin snapped up the R $ 454,48 in the form of ICMS, in a crazy mind that I will never understand because the GST applies on the product value, do frete, the import duty, Own ICMS, and more is known about what else. UPS also took R $ 92,11 only to advance the payment of tax, and R $ 39,96 only to have made that call asking my CPF. Por fim, additional $ 1,37 He was charged as Airport Rate Storage. Fortunately all taxes are paid by Sandisk, so I just received the package and I did not pay anything.
Inside the box was my new Sandisk Extreme PRO de 240GB, in its sealed box. There was only open, to install in the cabinet and restore the system with Macrium Reflect. Por fim, executei o Sandisk SSD Dashboard to ensure that everything was in order with the new SSD. CrystalDiskInfo also performed and did a test of written and write speeds with CrystalDiskMark. Check out the photos and screenshots:
I can conclude that my exchange experience under warranty with the Sandisk was quite positive. To be perfect only lacked cover the shipping of the defective SSD's return to São Paulo, but in any case it is already much better than RMA da G.Skill it requires sending to the US. Highlights also include sending the replacement via UPS, and all taxes paid, so that all the exchange process took less than two weeks. Again, much better than the G.Skill, sending hair USPS First Class that sometimes is very time consuming and leaves the customer at the risk of having to pay tax or try to explain to the IRS (who knows how) it was just an exchange under warranty. Good, to be perfect even could make the switch to bring the new and bring the defective scheme, but few companies working well. Moreover, no Brasil, just because honor the guarantee already a great thing, mainly because apparently also exchange products purchased abroad (I deduce this because they did not request the invoice).
Given this positive experience, I will continue recommending and buying products from Sandisk: SSDs, Memory Cards, pendrives, etc. as I have been doing. Be sure to check several Sandisk products that have been evaluated here at Skooter Blog.
