In this article I will describe my second experience with RMA Corsair. A first was described in another article, earlier this year, and it wasn't the best, Despite having given everything right in the end. This second experiment, happily, was very different, as the following report.
At the beginning of 2015, I assembled a PC to use in my work. I used a Intel i7-4790k and the principle would use only the stock cooler. But, This processor was very touchy, even in the not-too-heavy tasks. So I decided to purchase a Liquid CPU cooler Hydro Series ™ H80i.
The Liquid CPU cooler Hydro Series ™ H80i downloaded enough temperatures, leaving them in acceptable levels even with my heavier software. But, in tests as Intel Burn Test and Prime 95, the processor still arrived at 100ºc and powered up the throttling.
Despite the problem, I used the PC anyway for a year and a half, whereas with day to day tasks he hasn't warmed up to the limits. But on one occasion the processor starts knocking in 100° C even in idle. Apparently there was a problem with the Liquid CPU cooler Hydro Series ™ H80i, because on these occasions, even with the hot block, the radiator was cold.
I decided to then ask for RMA of Liquid CPU cooler Hydro Series ™ H80i, having 5 year warranty. I took advantage and asked also the RMA Intel i7-4790k, having 3 year warranty, and we definitely had some problem. At least this way the PC stands still and is removed once.
Open the ticket with Corsair, They asked me a receipt and product photos. Then already authorized sending. The forms are still somewhat confused, with information being requested repeatedly in his own ticket, in the form of Google, etc. Sending the defective product continues to be played by the client, Unfortunately.
The surprise came with the return of the Corsair. The defective product has arrived at the address in Sao Paulo the day 26/08/2016. It on the same day I've posted the replacement. Check the trace:

Next working day, that was 29/08, the new product was already in my hands. And still sent a top model: the Liquid CPU cooler Hydro Series ™ H80i GT. Came sealed, in original packaging. Check out some pictures:
Now yes, the duo new Intel i7-4790k + Liquid CPU cooler Hydro Series ™ H80i GT can keep low temperatures even with my heavier tasks. Even in the most extreme tests with the Intel Burn Test and Prime 95, the processor cores don't spend a lot of 90° C, measured with the Realtemp. With little processing it is around 40° C.
The installation of the Liquid CPU cooler Hydro Series ™ H80i GT It's a little cumbersome, but it is not difficult. He lost a feature that was its predecessor, to adjust colors variables for the LED, even according to the temperature of the block, processor or other. Now it is only possible to set a default color and a color for when any temperature passes a certain threshold.
Corsair Link software worked fine and I was able to configure the speed of rotation of the fan and pump, leaving the noise at tolerable levels.
The header USB 2.0 still needlessly occupying two USB ports, When only one is needed. As the PC also has a source Corsair, It also uses the Corsair Link and also has a plug for header USB which occupies two doors unnecessarily, What I did was join the two plugs in a, Apart from the 4 wires of one of them and moving on to the other, in the space that was not used and only blocked the second door of the header.
I've been using the Liquid CPU cooler Hydro Series ™ H80i GT about a month ago and, at least for now, I can say that it is approved and presented no problems. Let also a positive assessment to the Corsair, that provided a very positive RMA experience, much better than the previous.
