In this article I talk about the Motorola Moto Z Smartphone Play, I acquired on Sunday between the black friday and to Cyber monday (27/11/2016), taking advantage of a promotion of the Submarino in which it cost R$ 1.438,56.
This must be the first time I bought a new cell phone when the former was still fully functioning. The Moto X Play I acquired last year is still a good appliance, Despite being a little slow with some heavier applications, as Waze and Runkeeper.
With the Motorola Moto Z Play I got an upgrade from about 50% both in processing speed and amount of RAM, significant difference that ended any problems of slow loading and use of applications.
In addition there are also other significant improvements. The battery Z Play Bike It takes well over the Moto X Play, given the same tasks. The battery capacity is not greater, in fact it is even slightly smaller, but Z Play Bike It is more efficient in energy use.
The fingerprint reader is also an interesting addition, because it eliminates the typing passwords or entry standards, While still maintaining a reasonable level of security to prevent snoops and friends zoadores.
Not, I will not speak of snaps as advantage, because I haven't seen none that deserved my attention, so until the moment it is only a future possibility and something to enfeiar the back of the phone.
I also found it nice to be able to record my videos in 4 k, even though I don't have TV or monitor 4 k to watch home. But I've watched videos made with it in Monitor 5 k I have in my work, and the quality is excellent.
Another strange decision from Lenovo was to leave the biometric reader just to lock/unlock the phone, When he could also act as a button Home. Both sides of him there are empty spaces that could be used for two more capacitive buttons, completing the trio of Android. Several times I found myself pressing the biometric reader when wanted to press the button Home. It took some time before I get used to it.
Another negative point Z Play Bike is the camera, you no longer have the optical stabilizer Moto X Play. To complete, There was a reduction in resolution, from 21 megapixels for 16 megapixels. The rear camera continues with opening of f/2.0, but now has a laser focus helper. The front won a camera upgrade. She continues with 5 megapixels, but now has a flash.
The Z Play Bike also has only one speaker. Nothing too worrying, but I liked the scheme used by the Moto X Play, with two speakers: a for use at the ear and another for bells, Media, etc. that was on the bottom. I've had phone eventually “screamed” in my ear to use the same speaker for both. But at least with the Z Play Bike never happened. The proximity sensor must be efficient to that.
A positive point Z Play Bike is the metal body. Never really liked the plastic body Moto X Play. I always liked the touch more robust devices like the iPhone 5S, who has the all-metal body. The back of the Z Play Bike is coated with glass.
Although very thin, the Z Play Bike has a big bulge where the camera. At this point I also prefer the style of the Moto X Play, with the rounded rear, thicker in the middle to accommodate the camera, thinner on the edges.
The low thickness and the camera bulge Z Play Bike are justified by snaps. The appliance comes with a back cover to be used when the device is not using any snap, eliminating the overhang of the camera and leaving the unit easier to handle given the texture used on the cover. Moreover, Lenovo calls this cover of snap also. It is a Snap Style Nylon Shell Rouge. But, I believe that most of the owners of Z Play Bike will choose to waive this snap pattern and wearing a Cape that also protect the edges. That's what I did.
You can also use the appliance without any cover, but the fingers mark the rear window. Furthermore, He will end up suffering risks and in any fall can break. The rear window films can resolve the problems and risks, but not the risk of breakage in a fall.
Another device that I considered before choosing Z Play Bike was Zenfone 3. It has its advantages, as the most beautiful design, better use of the front and slightly lower cost. But two characteristics made me give up on him: the absence of NFC and the fact of using a hybrid SIM Card slot and microSD, so that we must give up the microSD to use a second SIM Card, and vice versa.
The Z Play Bike has two slots for micro SIM Card, and the microSD slot separately, allowing me to use my SIM cards of Vivo and Tim and my 64 GB microSD, I have since 2013 and now you're in your third device. In it are pictures and songs, leaving the internal memory of the device only for applications, and facilitating possible situations where it is necessary to restore factory default.
About NFC, I explained my use of it in the article on NFC tags. But, It is worth noting that the NFC's sensor Z Play Bike stay on top and it's pretty annoying to use. This location makes sense considering the use of snaps that would block the signal, but it's still something boring. The NFC of sensor Moto X Play It is much easier to use.
Still in the field of sensors, the Z Play Bike account with the fingerprint reader, accelerometer, proximity sensor, compass and gyroscope. Yes, the gyroscope is present, unlike Moto X Play where Lenovo made a pig and the economy has left out. This sensor is essential for the use of augmented reality, as the Pokemon Go, and for virtual reality applications.
Por fim, the Z Play Bike has the same advantage of Moto X Play, the Android operating system almost pure and without bloatware. He's with the version 6.0.1 the Android, but must receive the version 7 coming soon. In Europe the updates will start this month.
The warranty of Lenovo also weighed in favour of. My Moto X Play was repaired quickly when needed the guarantee. In the case of Asus reports that I've seen tend to be not very favorable.
The unit arrived in my hands at the day 05/12/2016. Compact box, Lenovo logo. Inside we have, According to the packing slip:
- 1 Phone 32 GB Black with silver
- 1 TurboPower 15W USB wall charger-C
- 1 USB sync cable-C
- 1 Stereo headset
- 1 SIM removal tool
- 1 Bike Style Nylon Shell Snap Rouge
- 1 Manual Kit
According to the label on the box, My appliance was manufactured in October 2016.
On the back we have some of the main features of the device and the four snaps original.
Inside the box I found all items, as described.
Other than the Moto X Play, where the turbo charger has a USB port, on the Z Play Bike the turbo charger already brings the cable attached, with the USB plug type C at the end. I did not like that very much, because cables may break and be replaced by quality others without spending a lot of. But in this case would be complicated and the charger all would be lost. Good boots are hard to find, and Caros.

I was pleased with the acquisition of the Z Play Bike. He is serving me well. It's not perfect, There are some points that I didn't like. But I believe he has the best ratio between cost and benefit today, being the best phone on the market currently intermediate.
If you want to acquire a Z Play Bike also, the The submarine had the best price at the time of my purchase and probably still has.
