Motivation

I'm putting together a new corner retrogamer in my house. In it I intend to put my CRT TV, my Master System II and some islands that are currently inactive: a Super Nintendo (1Chip model) I won, my Mega Drive III, and an Atari 2600.

All these consoles use sources in the American standard. Turn them into a common line would mean I would have to use 4 Adapters, and that if the distance between the sockets allow the connection of several large fonts, which is rare. Furthermore, to call this filter, all sources would be linked, consuming energy unnecessarily. The Line Filter with 6 TOMADO Universe, 2 USB, and Individual Switches eliminates the need for adapters and still offers individual switches for each socket.

At first I wanted to buy another one of these filters in the DealExtreme, but they ended up, so I looked for some similar in AliExpress and ended up finding Line Filter with 6 TOMADO Universe, 2 USB, and Individual Switches.

Compared to DX filters, the Line Filter with 6 TOMADO Universe has a taken more, and the two extra USB ports. But, the space between takes is slightly lower and the position of the on/off key is not as good. As she is not yet in use I can't tell if this will mess up or not, but soon I guess.

The protection factor is secondary to me, because this filter is connected to another with decent protection. Don't expect anything regarding the protection, so anything to come would be profit.

Unboxing and Tests

I was surprised by the arrival of the Line Filter with 6 TOMADO Universe, 2 USB, and Individual Switches just a month after posting, because it was still October and November packages who had not yet arrived. Moreover, I still have a package of October that it did not get and probably never get (It's amazing how packages “vanish” at the post office…).

Within the package, beyond Line Filter with 6 TOMADO Universe, a type A socket adapter for Universal. Note that the plug of the Line Filter is type I, used in China, Australia and other countries. So I'm going to use a single adapter to be able to plug it into an outlet of another filter.

On the back there is the specification of the Line Filter with 6 TOMADO Universe supports up to 250V and 10A. There are also drawings of various types of plugs that Line Filter accepts.

Each outlet switches are all translucent, and behind every one of them there is a LED that lights up when the switch is turned on.

I decided to measure the current in the USB ports and, to my surprise, they deliver about of 1, 5A to my Z Play Bike, the same as a fast charger. Possibly they support until more current, as this limit is the cell phone. Interestingly the USB circuit has an LED that is hidden and can only be perceived as the white plastic is slightly translucent.

On the side there is a fuse re-armável. So at least a minimum protection is offered.
