[Review] Gran Turismo Sport – Playstation 4 (PS4)

In this article I talk about the Gran Turismo Sport of Playstation 4 (PS4), acquired on Submarino. This is another game I have purchased to take advantage of with my Driving Force Logitech racing wheel G29.

I've never been a big fan of the series Gran Turismo, but I've always thought of them as good games. I've had versions of Playstation One and I had the Gran Turismo 5 no Playstation 3.

I was with a great anticipation for the release of Gran Turismo Sport, but in the end he ended up disappointing me a little. Not so disastrous as the Project Cars 2, but a little short of expectations.

About the graphics can't complain, the game was very nice. And that's because I haven't even played with 4 k and HDR, do you remember you played since my Sony XBR TV-55X905E arrived. The problem with the game is that the focus was almost entirely on online modes, and they aren't even that good.

The online races occur with an appointment. Beat means that you will be making several and several laps of qualifying. It's even nice to get the hang of the track before running for real, but it's also a bit tiring.

At least the online races are happening relatively clean, because there is a reputation system and who plays dirty gets a low note. Furthermore, wandering cars appear blinking and cannot reach the other, saw ghosts.

The amount of cars and tracks it's nothing out of the ordinary, getting well below what can be seen in the Gran Turismo 5, for example. In online mode there are also always just 3 available events (If you haven't changed), and as I only have a car in the category of one of them, ended up getting very limited in options, at least until I can get more cars.

The former simulation mode now doesn't exist anymore. There are just those events a little tiring to learn to fly. I didn't have the patience to do more than a dozen of them.

The response of the wheel is very good. He doesn't vibrate as much as in F1 2017, but has an answer too realistic. For those who like the game, certainly worth investing in a wheel as the Logitech G29 or higher to have a superior experience.

The big disappointment is the virtual reality mode. Like a lot of racing games and I found very interesting the demo Driveclub VR. So, the Gran Turismo Sport was one of the games that I expected to play with the Playstation VR.

The fact is that the VR mode Gran Turismo Sport It is even cool. But he is restricted to events of one-on-one against a car WOULD controlled. Yes, you run against just a car… and just flown by and only offline! And until the Driveclub VR already had a more complete grid. VR mode is only a bonus mode, anything you use in everyday life. Will be forgotten and left aside in no time, is a demonstration of a technology that still crawls.

Not that I would use the Playstation VR to play the Gran Turismo Sport no dia a dia, because that would be giving up all the graphic quality of the game, In addition to being an accessory to install before playing, beyond Driving Force Logitech racing wheel G29. But to complete the bad experience, I felt a constant malaise while playing Gran Turismo Sport VR mode. It wasn't just after play for half an hour, was constant, and yet it took a little to spend after you are finished playing.

Ultimately, was the shovel of lime for I bury the Playstation VR of time. Did selling it in November and bought a Nintendo Switch with the money I received. Best deal I did.

Regarding Gran Turismo Sport, little played after November. It is even likely that he has already improved somewhat with the release of new content. And certainly the 4 k and the HDR will leave the game. I need to play again to check. For while the F1 2017 still my favorite racing game 2017.

The verdict: Gran Turismo Sport is a good game, of incomparable beauty, but owed a bit on content. Certainly not love at first sight, but over time I might start liking him. Have little time to play is tricky…

The Gran Turismo Sport was not released with the full price of traditional Playstation 4. I bought it for R$ 142,55 on pre-sale, in promotion of Submarino. After a little more than 3 months of launch, prices have not yet downloaded. Check out:

Update (03/02/2018): Today I decided to play a little and realized that there was a new game mode called GT League. In him we have offline competitions but alike the ancient. Apparently released an unfinished game and now they're adding the missing. Online mode, on the other hand, still boring, with only 3 events available in most cases and by appointment to start.
