[Review] Old file! Gamer: Arcades – Volume 13

Who monitors the Skooter Blog know I'm doing the Old File collection! Gamer of the Editora Europa. For those who missed, be sure to check the articles of the seven books of the first season:

  1. Dossier OLD!Gamer: Master System
  2. Dossier OLD!Gamer: Super Nintendo
  3. Dossier OLD!Gamer: Playstation
  4. Dossier OLD!Gamer: Mega Drive
  5. Dossier OLD!Gamer: MSX
  6. Dossier OLD!Gamer: Atari 2600
  7. Dossier OLD!Gamer: Nintendo

See also the Article on the first five books of the second season, and the two pints I received as toast.

This is the book that was missing from the second season, the Arcades-Part 1, What is the Volume 13, which covers the arcades of 1971 a 1986. It's not the stage that I've had more contact, but it was her who were born some of the classics, whose ports I played on the Atari 2600, Nintendo, Master System, Mega Drive and Super Nintendo. Some I even played on the arcade itself, Although several years after launch, as Out Run and Hang On.

The Arcades-Part 1 follows the pattern of the collection, with the chapter about the interesting history of arcades. In some of the games I was wrong a little, because they put only the arcades “emuláveis” currently, leaving out some of the early arcades, they were made with discrete components.

I started in the arcades with Double Dragon, Xevious, T2 Judgement Day and Ghost & Goblins. Then, MIM, This little book was one of the best.
I'm waiting for the season 3, that should start arriving this month, you're going to have a book most current arcade.
