[Review] Professional Line Filter / Extension / Ruler – 10 Mixed Outlets

In this article I present one Professional Line with filter 10 Mixed Outlets, as he is called by your seller. He has 5 taken at the Brazilian standard and 5 taken at American standard, all grounded.

Motivation

Those who follow the Blog Skooter know I have some old video game consoles, all of which are simultaneously connected to the TV.

The power supplies of these islands were linked to a strip with universal plugs and individual switches, already presented here in Skooter Blog.

He had been quite the handy, because the sources of the old consoles often in North American standard, Type A, large and spacious. Furthermore, with individual switches I could only turn the console font that was going to play.

But unfortunately, recently taken one of this filter broke. opening it, I realized that the plastic had dried whole and he was sentenced, without repair chances.

strip with universal and individual switches taken, broke.

strip with universal and individual switches taken, broke.

To replace it looked for something in the same national market, but then I could not find anything with individual switches.

I ended up buying the Professional Line with filter 10 Mixed Outlets because the outlets are well spaced, the way I wanted. Furthermore, he has 5 taken at the Brazilian standard and 5 taken in the North American standard, grounded, what was ideal for equipment that I wanted to call him:

    1. Sega Genesis (Mega Drive), from the U.S., source with the American standard.
    2. Super Nintendo, from the U.S., source with the American standard.
    3. Playstation One, from the U.S., source with the American standard.
    4. Atari 2600, Brazil's Polyvox, but with American original source, the American standard.
    5. Framemister Mini XRGB, Japanese, with source in the Japanese standard (that is equal to the American).
    6. gscartsw_lite v1.5, source with the Brazilian standard.

Unfortunately not give to connect the individual equipment, but Framemister Mini XRGB and the gscartsw_lite v1.5 must be on whatever of the four islands that I'm playing. The three additional sources are expending energy for nothing, but as I do not play much I believe that there will be so much waste.

Anyway, and I will find a similar strip, with mixed and well spaced outlets and individual switches for a reasonable price, I will buy it.

Unboxing and Tests

And Professional Line with filter 10 Mixed Outlets arrived. The chassis is metal and it has electrostatic painting in white. The cable is 1,4 metro. There are LEDs for displaying the voltage being used.

Before installing-lo, I decided to open it to see what's inside. Ali noticed that the buses to phase, earth and neutral wires are made with. The protection is made with two varistors: one between earth and neutral and between earth and the other phase (assuming the use of power 127V), and a fuse that is in compartment accessible from the outside. Por fim, resistors there to light the LEDs of 127V and 220V according to the voltage used.

It's not a lot of protection, but it is more than most “filters” We only offer the fuse and nothing else. At least have the Varistors. Anyway, I'll call you after the Clamper Multi protection with surge Counter, so my consoles should be well protected.

Check out the photos and the video of the unboxing and the filter on the outside and inside:

The Professional Line with filter 10 Mixed Outlets It didn't go so well as I'd like. The sources of Super Nintendo and the Playstation One has a wider pins than the other, to be connected with the correct polarity. Give way, You can't connect them American outlets, because the sources on brazilian socket based which is in parallel. Because of this, the sources of these two islands needed to be connected in Brazil, with the use of Adapters.

Final Considerations

The Professional Line with filter 10 Mixed Outlets partially answered my quest. It's not exactly what I wanted, but is serving your paper for 3 months without any problem. I still intend to replace it with a more appropriate equipment when you find some, but until then I'm keeping Professional Line with filter 10 Mixed Outlets in this task.
