[Review] 10 PVC Dust Filters for 120mm PC Fan in Black Cuttable Mesh – AliExpress

The 10 PVC Dust Filters for 120mm PC Fan in Black Cuttable Mesh were purchased from AliExpress, shop Enjoying+C Store, for use in a Gabinete Corsair Mid-Tower Carbide Series 100R CC-9011075-WW, that was recently acquired.

Motivation

The Gabinete Corsair Mid-Tower Carbide Series 100R CC-9011075-WW comes with a single 12cm x 12cm fan, throwing hot air out at the back. But, it has space to install four more of them, two at the front throwing cold air inside and two at the top, to blow hot air out.

The top air outlet has relatively large holes, hexagonal, with 6 mm from one edge to the opposite edge, channel for entering too much dust when a fan is not present. And even when the fan is present, if the PC is turned off the dust will also enter through there.

Because of this, I decided to purchase one Kit c / 4 Fan – Cooler Master Masterfan MF120L Blue 120mm 12cm Led Azul and the kit with the 10 PVC Dust Filters for 120mm PC Fan in Black Cuttable Mesh, to make the case cooler and with fewer channels for the entry of dust.

How cheap filters are, I soon chose the kit with 10 to save on shipping and have some for future use.

Unboxing and installation

The 10 PVC Dust Filters for 120mm PC Fan in Black Cuttable Mesh came in a plastic envelope, and arrived in perfect condition. They already come with screw holes in the 4 how many, and can be cut to other shapes if needed, but it was not my case.

I used two of them on the two fans at the top of the Carbide Series 100R and saved the other eight for future use. The front fans have air inlets on the sides and they already have filters. In the rear fan I saw no need to put a filter, since the caps of the free slots are also punctured. Anyway, the dust tends to get in much more over the top (because of gravity) than from the back.

The traffic was very fast, only in 16 calendar days. Seems to be a side effect of the pandemic. While packages from some countries have delayed a lot, those in Hong Kong have been coming very fast. Merit also of AliExpress, who realized that the route via Sweden was very slow and changed to an apparently more direct route, even though it made freight more expensive.

The PVC Dust Filters são de boa qualidade e estão cumprindo seu papel. It is something that Corsair itself should have included in the case. Mas como ela não o fez, pelo menos não custou caro para inclui-los.
