Many years ago I purchased a tube of thermal paste Arctic Silver, which at the time was considered one of the best, maybe the best thermal compound. how little use, it lasted a long time and was only recently coming to an end.
Moreover, I don't understand these people who are disassembling and assembling PC every six months to clean and change thermal grease. I only clean mine when I change a component, either by default, is upgrade. And I do this only with an air blower. I don't even touch the processor/sink/cooler. If there is no problem and it is not a upgrade of processor or cooler, I don't see why move.
Last year I acquired a AMD Ryzen processor 9 3900X, that I showed here in Skooter Blog. As it heats up a lot, I suspected that the heatsink might be poorly seated. I intended to remove it and put it back on, but for that I would need to change the thermal paste. Initially I had used the thermal grease that came pre-applied to the heatsink.
I then researched if Arctic Silver was still the best, because the one I had was maybe not enough for another application. I knew then that the Arctic MX-4 is that it's the time ball. It's from the same manufacturer, but much more modern, no healing time, does not conduct electricity and performs slightly better. Opted for purchase on AliExpress because the price is considerably lower than in Brazil. I chose the version of 8 grams, which seemed a good amount to last a few more years.
even before the Arctic MX-4 to arrive, I read a lot of reports from other owners of AMD Ryzen 9 3900X and I concluded that it is really hot and there is nothing wrong with it. I also concluded that only coolers too expensive (above R$ 800,00) would chill you more than the cooler stock, which is already very good. I didn't want to make an investment of this level and I learned to live with the noise a little higher in the cooler stock, especially when compared to Noctua from my previous configuration, which is very silent.
After giving up on the Ryzen 9 3900X, when Arctic MX-4 arrived I just opened the package, I looked for evidence that it was a legitimate product., and then I saved it for future use. Everything indicates that she is legitimate, found no forgery. Check out the photos and video:
First Use of Arctic MX-4
After being in storage for almost six months, my Arctic MX-4 Thermal Paste was finally used when I decided to make the changing my PlayStation thermal compound 3 (PS3), as previously reported here on Skooter Blog. In this case it was a necessary exchange because the console was too noisy. The noise has decreased a lot, então posso dizer que a pasta funcionou.

I was pleased with the Arctic MX-4 Thermal Paste.
