eBay: Sony Playstation AV Adapter SCPH-1160 for SCPH-5500 JP Jap Japan /17214

Recently acquired a Cabo SCART RGB para meu Playstation One com Sync-on-Luma e upgrade para Multicore Coax to extract the best picture and sound possible from my Playstation One, replacing my old Playstation SCART RGB cable 1/2 with Audio and Guncon output. The new cable is better in almost all aspects. The picture gets better thanks to the synchronization signal extracted from the luminance signal, instead of the composite video cable as the other, beyond individual armor components. The sound also benefits the individual shielding of the multi-coax cable. Only one aspect of the old cable failure in the new, which is exactly the way out Guncon.

As pistolas de luz do Playstation, including around the Guncon Namco, They need the composite video signal to work. The operation of these is similar to that of Light Phaser do Master System, But the Master System apparently takes the synchronizing signal output control by itself or leaves the task of locating the point where the gun is pointed at the island. No Playstation, the light guns need the composite video synchronization signal to do the same task. When using a composite video cable, one T-shaped connector that came with guns is connected with the composite video input of TV, so that the signal goes to the gun and the TV while. But when we use a SCART cable there is no where to draw the composite video signal to the gun, for the Playstation only have a single multiple output from where all audio and video signals.

É aí que entra o Sony Playstation AV Adapter SCPH-1160. This accessory was developed by Sony itself. I do not know exactly what was the initial goal. By drawing on the packaging, it is possible it was to turn on the Playstation in two TVs at the same time. But the fact is that this accessory fits perfectly the need to extract the composite video signal when using an RGB cable. The SCPH-1160 connects multiple output of the Playstation and in it jacks RCA composite video, stereo audio and a multiple outlet where we can connect the SCART RGB cable. The diagram below illustrates this link, just mentally change the composite video cable and stereo audio thence by SCART RGB cable:

But I had several reasons for not comprar o Sony Playstation AV Adapter SCPH-1160, among them highlight:

  1. Não tenho uma Guncon 🙂
  2. The TV where my Playstation One LCD is. Light guns only work on CRT TVs.
  3. I can extract the synchronization signal using my SCART switch, since it has some jacks RCA, including composite video.

But for every opposing argument, I also have a counter-argument:

  1. I have a Guncon in the future. EBay has several Guncon for sale.
  2. I still have a CRT TV. She has no SCART input, but I could also buy a CRT monitor for gaming in the more distant future, where I have room to allocate it.
  3. How I am using a Cabo SCART RGB com Sync-on-Luma, the sign that I would draw the composite video output of SCART switch would actually luminance. I believe that the Guncon have no problems with it, after all she probably only extracts the synchronization signal, but who knows?

Analyzing all this, I decided it would not hurt leave a SCPH-1160 saved for possible future use. And I thought it best buy ever because these accessories should not have been manufactured on a large scale, They are already hard to find in eBay. At the time of writing this article, only has a SCPH-1160 available.

So that, searching on eBay I found a Sony Playstation SCPH-1160 AV Adapter with the seller lil.tupac from the store akibagamesdotcom. I can not in any way recommend this seller, for when the package fell in limbo the IRS and seemed lost, I made contact just to warn of the delay and he has responded aggressively practically calling me a scammer and showing a tracking code (it was not my) showing that the package has already been delivered… in Italy! No joke, he first sent it:

Read the description delivery between 3 to 8 weeks and describe and you must have read it before ordered !

First he tells me I should have read the description before purchasing and delivery is 3 a 8 weeks. I had no need of being ignorant, because until that time had passed 12 weeks from purchase. The following day, before I answer, he sent the following message:

Regarding the tracking number RR463722646JP You received your parcel the 25 th february so stop making joke !!!!! http: www.track-trace.com/post 02/05/2015 16:14 Posting/Collection HONGO TOKYO 113-8799 02/06/2015 01:35 Arrival at outward office of exchange TOKYO INT TOKYO 138-8799 02/06/2015 12:32 Dispatch from outward office of exchange TOKYO INT TOKYO 138-8799 02/13/2015 08:17 Arrival at inward office of exchange MILANO C M P ROSERIO ITALY 02/14/2015 05:24 In Customs MILANO C M P ROSERIO ITALY 02/25/2015 17:00 Final delivery AR5201 ITALY

This is where he said I had already received my package (in Italy). When I explained that I do not live in Italy he asked me the tracking code he gave me (well organized citizens), changed a little talk, He asked me to see if was not in the local post office and said he would check. A month later I went to ask if he had any novelty and the answer was that:

Tracking show the parcel arrived in Brazil 4 months ago, so ask the postmen me who stole it as so many times and them you should have a change to get your parcel, i’m sorry but I ship the game so when the parcel is stolen in the buyers country I cannot do anything and the japanese post do not do any refund cause the parcel arrive in the other country so it’s the other country responsibility.

That's when this was bad seller if exempting of any fault, He told me to contact the postmen who stole my package and that is the responsibility of Brazil. I tried to explain that the package is the sender until it reaches its destination, but then the answers were getting worse:

The parcel belong to the postoffice until his delivered. The sellers cannot do anything after shipment cause they didn’t have any powers and cannot check the work of the postal services. Only stupid people cannot understand that ! The problem is not me, is your country !!! To many bad people who doing bad thing, stealing most of the parcels, using stolen credit card number etc… you all are so bad and dishonest that you think everyone is like you guys !!!

Here he called me an idiot, He said the problem is my country, here there are many people doing bad things, stealing most packages, using stolen credit cards. Ultimately, that we, Brazilian, We are so bad and dishonest that we think everybody is like us. Not'll post the rest because there is worse. So now you know, Japanese seller lil.tupac from the store akibagamesdotcom think in Brazil has only thief, but does not care to make money selling to Brazil. And the blame is all ours for him to sell uninsured.

Fortunately the package ended up appearing after more than 4 months. Crumpled, as a tax the IRS had been sitting on top of him all this time. If I had not come I would be with injury, because when I contacted the seller the deadline for open dispute was over.

So be warned, We must open the dispute within. It is best to get a refund and pay again when the package arrives than to run the risk of running out package and no money. Some feel this, but the rules are these. This will make sellers stop sending to Brazil? Possibly. But the solution is certainly not to force honest Brazilians to take a loss on their purchases. It is past time eBay allow to stretch the term of the buyer protection in agreement between seller and buyer, as I do AliExpress, to adapt to the reality of Third World countries governed by the PT where international packages take 4 months to arrive and nobody can do anything regarding.

As the product, I did not get to test it for not having a Guncon, but apparently it's all right with him. It came in the original packaging, which did not suffer the same damage to the box having been completely crushed.
